Public Citizen Litigation Group launches the Public Interest FOIA Clinic In an exciting new program, Public Citizen Litigation Group will provide expanded assistance to public interest organizations seeking government-held information. We recognize that non-profits rely heavily on statistics, reports, and other information collected or created by government agencies in order to advocate for under-served communities and that in this time of government secrecy, non-profits increasingly have to rely on FOIA as a method of obtaining those crucial documents. The Clinic is designed to provide FOIA assistance to organizations without the resources or experience to litigate FOIA request denials. By providing litigation assistance, the Clinic will support the work of organizations fighting for a wide variety of causes, and leverage PCLG’s FOIA expertise to aid the broader public interest community. For more information about the Clinic, including the ways it may be able to help your organization, read our press release or visit the Clinic’s website at www.foiaclinic.org. Public Citizen Litigation Group is the litigating arm of Public Citizen. The Group specializes in cases involving health and safety regulation, consumer rights, access to the courts, open government, and the First Amendment, including Internet free speech. We litigate cases at all levels of the federal and state judiciaries and have a substantial practice before federal regulatory agencies. Our efforts are also pursued through programs such as the Alan Morrison Supreme Court Assistance Project and the Freedom of Information Clearinghouse.
